I was a bit nervous to take these cute baby pictures because this little doll is much older than I like newborns to be....BUT, I think we captured some really cute ones and I'm so glad! We snapped a few of her other kiddos too....it always makes me laugh when a child REALLY does not want their picture taken....I kept putting the hat on her little boy and he would throw that thing off so fast, the mom was watching us from inside and she said she was laughing....too bad I still got some cute ones....that little boy is going to be disappointed...JUST KIDDING!

Seriously, are they not the best people for an urban background? Couldn't have fit any better! Their little one...he is a TROOPER...it was butt cold outside and he was such a sport about it! His poor little hands were freezing....but all I have to say is it was SOOOO worth it! I can't wait for you guys to see all the adorable pictures...so glad you contacted me...absolutely loved seeing you again! Enjoy!!

So my new blog is just about ready for loading...I will post the link of the new place you need to bookmark sometime this week. And this below....I'm in love.....I will be offering these video's with my new pricing/packaging as well. This one was from a trip we took last August...yes, I KNOW, LAST AUGUST! So keep in mind there are only a few pictures edited! Obviously, the one I offer my clients will have ALL of their edited pictures on it! I personally think EVERYONE needs a video like this. Since I cannot keep up with my scrapbooking, I do one dvd with music for every one scrapbook page of each big event. So like our trips that we take, Christmas, birthdays, etc. And it keeps me all caught up!

I really cannot wait to offer these to my clients....they are the best!

You know me by now that I CANNOT handle snow....
no, let me say...I DESPISE snow....

however, I do love it around Christmas time....
and it is absolutely beautiful when our Christmas lights are on and our house is all lit up.....beautiful!....

today....we took the girls out to play in the snow...
of course, I had to take some pictures....so let's just say their hands were cold....because, really, do you have to have gloves on for pictures....that would be RIDICULOUS....

SO excited to FINALLY have some time to edit pictures of my girls! I LOVE them so much and I just can't help smile the whole time while editing their pictures! I will probably post more of them over the next couple of weeks since I did not schedule sessions for the month of December....my fam is number one to me and I decided to spend time with them, rather than be CRAZY mom! My Christmas Cards came yesterday and I'm SOOOO in love with them! I will still post them sometime so you can all see them! I've been working on a new blog, purchased my website and have been working on my prices and my brochures....sheeeeessshhhhh, I'm pooped! Oh yes, I'm about done with my Christmas shopping too! By the end of this week, I should be completely done! YEAH...now I can fully enjoy the Christmas season!

Anyways...have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! And I will leave you with a picture of what I am most thankful for in my life! (Except my cute hubby is missing from the picture...he and my children are number one on my thankful list! Is that sentence grammatically correct? Probably not...it sounded funny!)

oh what a BEAUTIFUL day! Aren't you glad you can't actually hear me sing that? So, I love these guys! They use to live in my neighborhood but not any more...grrrr! The beauty in the middle...the cute blonde is the mom and she is the funniest lady I've ever met! As a matter of fact I was reading her blog last night at 1:30 in the morning and busting a gut...I'm surprised that my kiddos or my husband didn't come walking out wondering what the heck mom was laughing at! I could go on and on about her adorable kids....but let's just say they were the best kids to take pictures of! I adore you guys more than you know...hope you likely like!

HONESTLY...watch out S...your kiddos are pure beauties and handsomies (yep, pretty sure that is NOT a word)!

Really....has it been that long since I posted?!? Where does the time go???? Ha, ha...this session made me laugh because the little one only wanted his picture taken with the family if he knew I was going to come and get him...and he totally reminded me of my little girl and the best pictures that we get are with her upside down...dad even tried that with him and he STILL did NOT want his picture taken! I still think we got some really cute ones! It was SOOO fun meeting all of you and I really adore your children...I know you guys may have thought they were being a handful but that is what family pictures are all about and I would never, ever expect anything else with any family! That is REALLY what the good times are about :)

The title says it all. She really is SOOOO beautiful! Her whole family was there to watch her get her pictures taken...okay, not really but a lot of them and it made me a tad bit nervous but once I got shooting, I forgot all about my nervousness and loved how absolutely gorgeous she was looking. I told them that I LOVE photographing brides because they look the prettiest that they have ever looked and every picture seems to turn out just perfect! I feel very honored that they picked me as the photographer...thanks you guys!

Can you feel the love??? Wait until you scroll down and see these pictures and you will FOR SURE feel the love :) Super fun session...I'm pretty sure J practices in front of the mirror on a daily basis...I would say do this or do that and he would do something 10 times better than what I just asked him to do. Plus, they were both just plain FUN...since we were in the weeds we got all stickered up but the pokies that crawled down our jeans and poked our buttocks all night were totally worth it right guys?

I love this family! Is it not the best when a mom and dad say do whatever you want and are totally care free about the pictures that you take? That's what was said to me when I took their pictures :) LOVE it! Their littlest one...made me laugh because he DID NOT care about pictures...but really what almost 2 year old does? I kind of felt bad because the first photo that I made them take was up on this gross, rusty, dirty box of some kind and well, yeah...let's just say they were TOTALLY good sports about it!

First...I have to say that I LOVE what I do...seriously, every minute I love it. I love meeting new people, I love the sassiness and shyness of kids, I love the moms bribing their children to smile...this especially makes me laugh because I do it with my kids, I love the family laughs, the look of a couple as they look into each others eyes and then bust out laughing....I really could go on and on about what I love. There are SOOO many photographers that have truly inspired me over the past year and I seriously look up to them on how they juggle photography, their kids, husband, school, etc.... I have often caught myself saying "I don't know how they do it!" Seriously, ask my cute hubby...those words come out of my mouth often.

I am excited and a bit sad to say that I am pretty much booked for the rest of the year. I really do take extremely limited sessions because my family is #1 to me and between me running my kids to preschool and dance and keeping my house clean (ha, ha...I am obsessed about that!), I feel like I can only take so many sessions where I will still feel like I am a good mom....and this is why I say that SOOO many photographers have inspired me! I am completely booked for September and October (seems like lots of people have thought ahead for Christmas, plus lots of babies being born, and I am doing another wedding).

HOWEVER...I still want to help all these wonderful people out there get their Christmas cards done...so I am going to offer 1 half day of mini sessions :) AND, I can't wait!!!

Christmas MINI sessions!!!

I am going to be holding some Christmas mini sessions on November 7th (however, I will only be taking 4 sessions).

These are the details:
1) Sessions will be 30 minutes long.
2) You will have a choice of approximately 10 images to choose from online.
3) 25 Christmas cards with envelopes will be included and you will have the choice of many different types of paper to have your cards printed on. (They are super nice quality!)

Price: $150.00

You will also have the option to purchase a disc for $10.00 with 5 images on it. And of course, you can always order larger prints as well...wouldn't that be a great gift for grandma and grandpa??? All framed and wrapped up nice with a pretty bow...sounds good to me! :)

Here are examples of the Christmas Cards you can choose from...please keep in mind, that we will add your own wording that signs your name(s).

I will be increasing my prices as of January 2010 so please check out my pricing link for any changes. I hope to be adding studio lights to my never ending, LONG list of "NEEDED" items for photography...and hopefully that will be soon so that I can still continue taking pictures since Utah likes to have these LONG, DREADFUL Winter months! :)

Awww, the sweetness of newborns! I just love them...I went to pick up her blanket while doing this session and on that blanket I could smell the OH. SO. DECLICIOUSNESS of newborns! She is so cute you would think it would make me want another one...BUT then I remember the no sleep stuff and I quickly move on and just treasure the time I get to take pictures of little ones :) This little beauty did NOT want to sleep for us at all :) Even though she did not want to sleep, she was quite the angel! The mom of these cute kids has been my number one follower/fan since I started this blog and it was really great to actually meet her!!! Hope you like "A"!

Oh.MY.GOODNESS!!! Look at these girls! They had so much SASS and I LOVED it! I didn't really even have to tell them how to pose, they just kept striking these poses and I was trying to snap as fast as I could. To be able to take pictures of these cute kids! These kids belong to one of my MOST WONDERFUL friends in the whole entire world! We worked together for years and then went to college together too...and then of course, she moved...grrrr!!! I love that we can see each other only every so often and it is like we never skipped a beat! I'm so lucky to have friends like this in my life :) Plus we are both SUPER blunt and it doesn't get any better than that! She called and said she was coming to SLC and asked if I would take pictures of her kiddos...OF COURSE I would :) Funny her 3 year old really did NOT care about the camera at all...way too many other FUN things to see! Regardless, her kids are sweethearts and I'm glad she asked me to take their pictures!

I must admit that I was a bit nervous to take pictures of a big family but I am SO glad that I took on this challenge :) This family was A LOT of fun and up for anything (except standing on the wood thingy that had bee's coming out of it like crazy)...okay, I will admit, I would be TOTALLY chicken too....ya'll would've never known that I am SUPER afraid of bees...my sister and I were on the beach once and we were both running away from a bee and ran in a circle and ran into each other (head on) because we were so frantic and weren't paying attention to any of our surroundings except that ONE DANG BEE! Okay, off on a tangent....Thank heavens there were a bunch of guys to drag my 3 chairs EVERYWHERE we went...thanks guys! So fun meeting all of you and I think I finally got all your names...it only took me 4 days..ha, ha! Enjoy your sneak peeks!

I think I have found my niche in photography....I LOVE urban! I LOVED the setting, the quietness, the options of where to take the pictures, and the editing! I am headed out this weekend to search for more urban places to take pictures! Are these children not the most beautiful children you have ever seen? They were so much fun to photograph! These kids were so well behaved...a 5 week old, a 7 month old and the most patient 4 year old! Phew....we all left feeling pooped out...I think! I just love this girl! You really would never think that you could become friends with someone so quickly after meeting them...but this couple...I love them! I'm so glad I have met them :) So this was a new photoshoot for me but it was really fun! If any of you know me, you know that I am ALL for school and getting the most education you possibly can...SOOO, with that said, I give a big woot, woot to "L"...way to go girly! These were some seriously fun pictures for graduation...but my favorites from my own graduation day were the fun ones! I was so flattered she asked me to take her graduation pictures! I was feeling pretty lucky to be able to take pictures of my cute niece. I kept wondering if she was totally bored out of her mind though :) I asked her what else she would be doing on a Saturday night and she said "nothing, probably sitting at home doing nothing"....so she told me she had a good time :) I have not had an opportunity to take my new camera out so...this was a perfect opportunity and it was actually pretty warm until the last 1/2 hour or so :) YEAH. I was able to take pictures of a friend of mine from high school that happened to come across my blog...well, not her but her cute kids! It really was so fun seeing her again....I'm so glad that she contacted me! Her kids were ANGELS! I kept telling her that no ones kids act like this...she must be one good mom because I'm telling you, when I say they were angels...they were like beyond angels! I'm just so excited to keep editing these pictures because I think they turned out so cute! Oh my goodness...this photo shoot was SO.MUCH.FUN!!! You would totally think they got their pictures taken every weekend because of how natural they were in front of the camera! I was able to take pictures of this sweet, sweet girl! Really, I was feeling so lucky to do that BECAUSE...she was just sealed to her parents/family in the Temple. Which if you know me, that is so dear to my heart! I love her mom too...we have A LOT in common...it was so fun hanging out with her and her little girl for a few hours. Obee-kaybee….here is the deal-e-o….I am wanting to start building up my photography business and I know that a lot of people don’t want to book during the cold months here in Utah and that is understandable since I am not a winter person myself. MMMM....mmmmm....good!!!

So I have been really bad at blogging...maybe that is an understatement! I have been SOOO lucky to be able to be taking pictures of my sweet girls...a LOT! My little sweety even said to me today: "MOM, I'm going to put my tutu on so you can take pictures of me, okay?" WHAT??? Is that okay? Ummm...I'd say so :) So there I was in all my glory shooting away and she was hamming it up big time. She didn't like any of my poses only her poses! So here are some pictures I got! And...I know, I know about the giveaway...well, besides taking pictures, I LOVE to make watches. I am completely obsessed and this is just another reason I only take limited sessions...I'm busy with this too :) I sell them in salons and they have done awesome! I typically sell them for $40.00 ($28.00 for the bands and $12 for the watch face). They are interchangeable. So...I am going to be giving one away....I have to figure out the wording of my contest but I will at least show you the one I am going to give away! I should have it all worked out by the end of this week! So...ya think I would have posted this earlier but I was SOOOO enjoying the Christmas and New Year season! Even though we all got some kind of stomach flu we are all pretty much better and are ready to start the new year out with a bang! My new year resolution is very simple this year...it is to take more pictures of my girls one on one with me in the picture :) May sound dorky but after all, that is truthfully why I fell in love with photography! Once you start taking pictures of other people the love of taking pictures of your own family disappears a bit....so my goal is to not let that happen! I'm SOOO glad I was able to take these pictures. I mean...really, aren't these kids so dingen cute? And...look at their dogs...I love them! I'm definitely not a dog lover if any of you know me...and I didn't really know what kind of dogs they were so I have to admit I had a touch of scaredness in me....then I saw them and I loved them! I could have taken one (not both) home with me. I'd go nuttso with 2 dogs :) But wow are they strong dogs...but this first picture makes you want to grab their cute cheeks, doesn't it? We only had an hour to shoot these photos and I could have kept going for another hour...these lucky parents have beautiful children don't they? Hope you likey like :)

I know I'm just posting 2 pictures but really, who stays up until 3:00 a.m.???? Oh, that would be me :) This post is far past due and they have already ordered their Christmas cards but I really thought it was a cute picture...and I love the idea that these cute grandparents get their pictures with their grandkids every year. How sweet is that? They wanted a Christmas background so I really tried to rack my brain to think of a place...well the mom of these cute kids actually called me with a place...and I really think this one turned out darling. Ahhh...I just love all of these pictures! I cannot believe how well behaved their kids were...I mean seriously, I think they ran off like once. Who's kids do that? "E" was totally into some stick he found at this location and well, "S" smiled more for me than she ever has for pictures...according to her mom. I LOVED taking pictures of all of you! Oh this was such a fun day! Wow, a really long day (like a 13 hour day) but oh so worth it and really, oh so fun! I'm thinking weddings are one of the best to photograph because you can TOTALLY see the love in their eyes. I just love this WHOLE family (both sides of the bride and groom). I really left feeling like I was family. Thanks for letting me take your pictures you two. I know you will have a wonderful life together :) Congratulations!!!

I was so lucky to take pictures of my neighbor's little girl. She is adorable...and anyone that knows me knows I love to get my girls all dolled up...so this session was just all too fun for me :) The funny thing about this session was that my neighbor said that her little girl can be fussy during the day...but she was an ANGEL...not even kidding!! So I told my neighbor that she is going to have to buy all this foo-foo frilly stuff since obviously...her little one enjoyed being in the foo foo stuff...she has to be ALL GIRL!!! OH YEAH!!! Hope you like "C"....I have more to edit but these were just some I have done and loved :)

I mean aren't they? My friend just had these twins about 2 weeks ago and aren't they just the most precious little things you've ever seen? Okay, now I would die with having twins...but she will be a wonderful mom to these twins...and to top it off, she has two other kiddos...YIKES! Oh my heck!!! This was the funnest session...I mean, Miss "J" is gorgeous, fun, bubbly...and on and on...no wonder her lucky fiance' wants to marry her :) I loved your cute, little, sassy personality and I loved having your mom and sister there too! AND....you said you didn't know how to be sexy....ummmm, yes you do, just look at the pictures....and everyone else must have thought so too because that is why you got so many honks!!!! I have SOOOO many pictures that are stinkin cute I'm going to have a busy week editing. You have got to be one of the most photogenic people I have ever seen! So my cute sister asked me to take pictures of her family and we had plans to take them last Friday but then we found out the weather was going to be like ICE COLD, so we quickly changed our plans and beat the cold weather...and thank heavens!!! It still was kind of chilly but overall it was much better than what it was going to be 2 days later :) Her little girl really didn't care too much for the camera and said "no" pretty much everytime anyone asked her to smile but you know...isn't that how it goes? I still think we caught some cute ones of the family and her kiddos....hope you guys like :)

What to wear

Clothing is a very important part of pictures. It is important to stick to your style but I have some suggestions that help your portraits have that classy look.

Individuals
I recommend wearing something more bold and colorful. Clothing with a lot of texture (jeans, buttons, ruffles and knits) as well as layered clothing (jackets, scarfs, leggings) show off personality and make the picture interesting. I love hats (any kind) for both girls and boys.
For children, depending on the location and time of year, barefeet are just so darn cute! I may recommend that, but if not, I love a cute pair of shoes and sometimes I just photograph the footsies.

Siblings
It can be hard to coordinate colors and not look too matchy, matchy.
Try to pick 2 coordinating colors (maybe a light brown and a dark brown or a brown and one other solid color) but try not to have them wear the same clothing. The more layers, textures and colors, the better. I still recommend bright and bold colors.

Families
For families, choose a style you like and stick to complimentary colors. Dark Jeans and khakis are always a nice choice for pants. Continue to
think about texture and color. You may think that certain colors don’t go together, but again think out of the box and have fun! I like the final image to be colorful, fun and classic.

**Feel free to bring a change of clothing if your children are up to it!

Session Information and Frequently asked questions

I am interested in booking a session, when do I need to schedule with you?
If you are interested in booking with me please schedule as soon as possible so that I will be able to arrange my schedule with the dates you have in mind. At the the time of booking, your session fee is due in order for me to committ your scheduled date. Please understand that this is non refundable if you do cancel your session however, it can be transferred to another day.

Where are pictures taken?
I will discuss with you the kind of look that you want to express in your pictures. Whether you want classic, urban, scenic, etc. Please remember that I am an on location photographer so my best shots are with natural light. I have a variety of different locations that I love to use but am always open to suggestions.

What time of the day do you schedule your sessions for?
The last 2 hours before the sun sets allow for the best natural light. So depending on the time of the year, the time I like to schedule your session will change.

Do you have any props or accessories that you use at your sessions?
Yes! Props and accessories are some of my favorites to get pictures with. I have a variety of chairs, baskets, trunks etc. I am ALWAYS open to you bringing any chairs or props that help portray the “realness” of the person I am photographing. We can chat and arrange which ones you would like for me to bring.

What can we expect during the session?
I like my sessions to be fun, fun, fun!!! Please plan on about 1 ½ hours to 2 hours for each session. What I want portrayed in the pictures is the “real you”! I like YOU to shine through in the pictures! Please read the “About Me” section as this will describe a bit more of what I like to capture in my sessions. Every session is an adventure, and I want each picture to be different and unique; it's always exciting to see how each picture turns out since every person is so different!

We've finished our session what are the next steps?
After your session I will place a few sneak peaks up on my blog within a few days. I will go through the images and pick 20-25 of your best images ready to view on my online gallery within 2-3 weeks of your session. These are the images you can select to order. The images will remain in the gallery for 2 weeks, orders must be placed within that time frame. Once you have placed your order you will recieve either your prints or images on CD within 1-3 weeks.

I’m ready to schedule a newborn?
Newborns are best photographed in the first couple of weeks after being born. They tend to sleep a lot more and can “bend” their bodies a bit more to get them in the best possible poses. I want them to look calm and snuggly. If your are interested in booking a newborn session please remember to book at least 4-6 weeks before your due date. Newborn sessions will take place in your home which will allow for the most comfortable atmosphere. I may ask you to turn up your heat in your house so that the baby will feel much more comfortable. I love to take outside shots close by the home if your baby is cooperative and happy and if it is warm and not too windy. I understand that newborns like to have their own schedule and so please plan on the session taking about 2 hours. I am more than willing to work with you and your baby until we are able to capture the best possible pictures.

I LOVE everything about photography and to tell you the truth, I really had no idea that I would turn it into an exciting career! I really think that if it weren’t for my bestest friend, my great husband, I would have never recognized that I could actually turn my passion into a so called “job”. In addition to my husband helping me pursue this dream, my two little angel girls, who were miracles in my life, made me realize that time goes by so quickly and I didn’t want ONE moment to pass by without capturing it on camera. Photography lets you capture those precious moments that will be gone with a snap of finger. My intention is to have the pictures I take last a life time and although the moment is gone, I want the memories to be kept alive. I LOVE to capture a beautiful smile, a shy expression, the laughter of a child, the love between siblings and family members, and yes even tantrums. Aren’t some of the best pictures the ones you capture with a tear streaming down your child’s face because they just don’t want a camera in their face? I want to capture it all! My intention is to capture the “real you”! I love casual pictures where a child is in their “own world” or a family is having fun together…so many times I will just ask you to play around with each other and I will stand back and take some shots. I want to capture those “real” smiles that display YOU!

I am so grateful to be doing what I love…not many people can say they REALLY enjoy their job but I do…I really, really do!
